To to put into practice the zoning plan, the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima- MML carries out, with the support of the municipal corporation corresponding entities, the following projects:
1.The development of the following mass public transport projects which will be part of the Metropolitan Transport Integrated System:
- High Capacity Segregated Corridor Phase I (COSAC I) North-South axis (from now on “Corridor1” or “METROPOLITANO”).
- The urban train line 1 project
- Reassignment of the public transport route in a number of high capacity road runners.
- Building of inter-provincial stations in the transport service.
2. To improve the operation transport service through:
- New standard in quality services provided by the public transport operators.
- Measures to control and to reduce air and noise pollution by using fewer vehicles in bad condition.
- Improvements for road security.
- The integration of several transport ways in a system that implies almost all the city.
3. To improve road infrastructure for the benefit of public transport users:
- To consolidate high capacity road runners.
- To build an overpass in main intersections to avoid traffic.
- To improve road surfaces, signposting and traffic lights.
- To build pedestrian areas, cycle paths, and stairs in the hillside city.
- To adopt universal accessibility principles to eliminate architectural as well as urban barriers that hinder individual people performance with restricted mobility.
4. To create a new transport culture:
- To create order in the transport service.
- To strength municipal institutions so that they are able to regulate the quality service for the users benefit.
- To promote business formalization and abilities for domestic carriers.
- To teach people to follow rules and to respect each other.
